L'atelier MAGMA commencé sa production de planches custom en 1995 des mains d'Achille Lequertier et Helmut Wirtz. Même si l'atelier ne s'est ouvert iI y a Cinq ans, ses shapers ont de longues et diverses expériences dans plusieurs ateliers.

Helmut Wirtz

: Helmut Wirtz

Helmut, agé de 40 ans construit sa premier planche en 1980 et deja en 1984 il travail avec d'importants shapers internationaux. En 1988, il ouvre son premier atelier "Keen Edge" et finalment en 1995 il change de résidence pour Fuerteventura. Une rencontre fortuite avec Achille et c'est le départ de Magma.

Achille Lequertier

Achille construit ses premières planches dans le garage familière en 1982 avec son frère Raoul, plus de 10 ans de compétitions pour Achille et des surfstrips pour Raoul font que leurs expériences en matière de flotteur de vagues est au top.

Abel Cathelineau

Fuerteventura ist seit zehn Jahren die Wahlheimat des Franzosen Abel Cathelineau. Zuvor arbeitete er als Schiffsbauer und führte einige Jahre einen eigenen Surfshop in Frankreich. Auf der Suche nach wärmeren Gewässern landete er schließlich auf Fuerteventura, wo er tagsüber Fischerboote repariert und abends seiner Leidenschaft nachgeht und individuelle Surfboards und Paddel herstellt. Mittlerweile besitzt er sein eigenes Label „Belway Paddles“ und verwirklicht in Zusammenarbeit mit Magma Custom Boards seine Visionen. Auch sonst ist er im Surfsport aktiv: Kiten und Windsurfen zählen zu seinen grossen Leidenschaften.

Eric Terrien's custom boards and the prototypes that has been used by Nidecker (the swiss brand leader in the snowboard industry) to produce the new 12'6 SUP "All Water Race" are all designed and hand shaped by the team Helmut Writz/Abel Cathelineau in the Magma Custom Boards Factory, Fuerteventura.

Gunnar started experimenting with Kiting on the water back in 1999 and quickly got addicted to the sport. He moved to Fuerteventura permanently in 2001 to teach at the Flag Beach Kitesurf Center. There he managed to hone his kiting and teaching skills and has managed to become one of the most experience Kite Instructors in the World. 10 Years later he is still with it and is doing his best to promote the sport and improve the equipment out there.
